Business Technology Support for a Global Company
When EGM Tech took over from a previous outsourced IT provider, the previous company had staffed a full-time position at the Easy Gardener headquarters. Shortly after taking over the contract, EGM Tech broached the idea of managing Easy Gardener’s services from the EGM Tech office. This would give Easy Gardener the benefit of having multiple people available to work on their systems, and allow EGM Tech to manage the staff and technology infrastructure systems more efficiently.
Easy Gardener agreed to this service change on a trial basis — initially having an EGM staff member there for the first two hours every morning and then eventually transitioning to onsite visits whenever needed. It went very well.
With the service delivery and support calls running smoothing, Easy Gardener saw that EGM Tech was very proactive about running their business technology systems and supporting their staff. Under this more efficient method of service delivery, EGM Tech was able to lower Easy Gardener’s monthly contract by 12%.
During the relationship, EGM Tech and Easy Gardener have worked together to upgrade much of their core routing, switching, and wireless network infrastructure. Easy Gardener’s old PBX telephone system has also been replaced with a Cisco Unified Communications system. The relationship with Easy Gardener and the company’s IT Manager has been running smoothly for four years, and Easy Gardener continues to be a great client.
